Rumors of War: Daemons vs Bretonnia

Recent troubles have been stewing in the peaceful land of Bastonne in Bretonnia

It all started when the Duke’s nephew went out hunting for deer in the nearby forests

The hunt went well enough for the young noble. But, his luck ran out when the deer fell before the entrance to a large, mysterious cave.

The sun had set before the hunter could follow the blood trail to the deer’s final resting place. Unfortunately, a bat swarm had already emerged from the cave, following the scent of fresh blood

The hunter valiantly defended his quarry and clubbed a few of the bats. Eventually he set a fire at the mouth of the cave, deterring the swarm and burning out the dark cavern.

After the hunter was victorious over the blood-thirsty bats, he carried his game home for his prize. Little did he know that the bats were only the beginning of his woes.

The bats were only the pets and spies of Nocturnus Van Urstein, the infamous Vampire who has dwelled for centuries high in the mountains shadowing over the Land of Bastonne.

The actions of the hunter awakened Van Urstein from a long sleep. This immortal deviant held an eternal hatred for the proud and ignorant Bretonnians.

Wolves were immediately dispatched to the burned-out bat cave and then commanded to track down the hunter’s origin. The wolves soon found the nobleman’s castle. Soon after, Nocturnus went to pay the castle a little visit on a dark moonless night.

During the third watch of that night, the watchmen were suddenly alerted to a mysterious light far out on the plains. Dark Magic continued blazingly active until almost dawn.

At sunrise the Sergeant and his squad was immediately dispatched to investigate the location of the magical lights.

The Men were horrified to find that a Chaos portal had been opened and that a mass of blood Daemons had emerged onto the lands of Bastonne.

A brave courier ran back to alarm the castle, as the sounds of pathetic battle cries of terrified men faded behind him.

Soon, the knights were assembled and mounted. Armed with fresh lances and shields, they stormed out onto to the plains to defend their homeland from the invading Daemons.

A dawning day of duty and honor for King, and The Lady…
